1940<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

William Darnajou\u2019s father, a cooper, used to practice polyculture in his fields. \u00a0In the 1960s, William and L\u00e9ontine Darnajou took over the estate , which was divided, at this time, in vineyards, market gardening and livestock farming.<\/p>\n

1960<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

William\u2019s son, Henri Darnajou, began to develop the winegrowing activity, as a concrete business.\u00a0The wine was mainly sold in bulk to wholesalers, but very quickly, Henri Darnajou developed sales in bottle, winning the loyalty of the customers, all over France.<\/p>\n

1994<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

When his father died, Jean Darnajou, which embodied the 3rd generation, took over the family business at the age of 20. He comanaged the estate with his mother\u00a0: Colette Darnajou and \u00a0carried on the family tradition, and gradually modernize techniques (thermoregulation, pneumatic press, etc.).<\/p>\n

Since 2019, Ch\u00e2teau des Moines has officially obtained the \u201cHigh Environmental Value\u201d certification, level 3, for its wines.<\/p>\n

The estate has expanded its area, thanks to the acquisition of 5 hectares of vines in the Bordeaux appellation, to further develop the wine production.<\/p>\n
